FAQ

Before you head to the cabin.

The practical details guests ask about first: booking, what to bring, weather cancellations, access, GPS coordinates, and transportation.

What is the best way to contact Baffin Cabins for questions, details, or to book a trip?

Call or text USCG Captain David Lowry at (361) 360-1903 or email baffincabins@gmail.com.

What should I bring with me to the floating cabin?

Bring a case of fresh drinking water, ice to keep your catch fresh, sunscreen, a fishing license, gas for the generator, and fresh sleeping linens. Generator use varies, but 5 to 10 gallons of gas is typical for a 2-night stay.

What is the cancellation policy on cabin rentals?

Due to the nature of the business, there are no refunds on booked dates unless cancellation is weather related. If winds are sustained at 30 mph or greater, your trip can be rescheduled without additional fees.

What is the cancellation policy on guided fishing trips?

Guided trips are 100% refundable when the customer cancels with 7 days notice. A 50% refund is available with at least 4 days notice. No refund is given when the customer cancels within 3 days of the planned trip.

How do I find the floating cabin?

After booking your stay, you will receive GPS coordinates to the floating cabin.

How do I get into the cabin?

The cabin is securely locked. After booking, you will receive instructions for entering the cabin as well as departure instructions.

Can you provide transportation if I do not have access to a boat?

Yes. Round-trip transportation to and from either cabin can be arranged for up to 5 people for an additional $300. The boat ride is typically about 30 minutes. For details, contact David at (361) 360-1903.
